The PTX10001-36MR packs 24x 400GbE and 12x 100GbE into a single rack unit, built on Juniper's Express 4 silicon with inline MACsec on all 100G and 400G interfaces. It runs Junos OS Evolved.
Typical use: IP/MPLS core and LSR, high-capacity peering, metro aggregation and datacenter edge where 400G density and power efficiency matter.

Both. With full IP/MPLS features and inline MACsec it is used as compact LSR/core router, for peering and as aggregation router.
What is the -K version?
The PTX10001-36MR-K adds a TPM 2.0 chip with device identity for Secure Zero Touch Provisioning and file system encryption. Otherwise the hardware is the same.
